The project is about the
symbolic violence that has taken place when, dating back as far as the Renaissance,
the west has taken the mythical figure of Cupid and re-branded it to suit its own needs.
My project aims to explore the ways that consumer culture has impacted on those meanings. The desire and love of the original myth has been replaced by a desire of the instant and easily consumed motif. The project uses digital imaging to describe the descent into meaninglessness of a cultural text that was once valued by a great civilisation.
